shark attack bitches
SOLANA BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Swimmers, surfers and casual beachgoers know now a great white shark might be lurking below the glassy blue surface of the ocean here. With the weekend forecast promising dry winds and summery temperatures - classic Southern California beach weather - the thousands that typically would be expected to throng the Pacific shoreline will have to decide whether ignoring authorities and taking a dip is worth risking the danger officials believe still exists. Helicopters searching for signs of the shark that killed triathlete David Martin will continue scanning the coastline Saturday from the city of San Diego to Carlsbad, said Solana Beach Lifeguard Capt. Craig Miller. The beaches remain closed and will be patrolled throughout the weekend, according to city and county officials.

Shark Attack!!!

MIAMI (AP) - A diver has died after being bitten by a shark off the coast of Florida.
The Coast Guard says the man died Monday at a hospital in Miami.
A Coast Guard statement said the victim was attacked while he was diving off a commercial boat about 50 miles east of Fort Lauderdale.
The shark involved in Sunday's attack got away before anyone could identify the species.
Coast Guard officials said the man was 50 years old but they did not give his identity.

Good News for Shark Fans
Moishe, this means you. From Popular Science.
George Burgess, the director of the International Shark Attack File at the University of Florida, announced today that fatal attacks from the toothy predators dropped to a two-decade low worldwide. Only a single swimmer was lost in 2007, compared to four each in the two years before. Granted, that doesn’t mean sharks are leaving us alone completely. The number of attacks actually increased from 2006 to 2007, jumping from 63 to 71. More than half of these occurred in US or Hawaiian waters.
As for why the number of fatal strike dropped, Burgess suspects this is the result of improved medical treatments and better swimmer awareness.

Its not a shark but it's scary

One of its claws might feed an entire family, but this sea creature would be more likely to eat the family.
British researchers said Tuesday that they had discovered a foot-and-a-half-long fossilized claw of an ancient sea scorpion, a species that would have been 8 feet long, making it the largest arthropod ever discovered.
